Roland Rutgers

With over 20 years of experience in the transportation industry Roland’s activities focused (amongst others) on structured finance, business development, fund/asset and project management. He has originated and structured multiple debt (including JOL and JOLCO’s) & equity structures (in excess of multibillion US$) in the container and rail industry, is an experienced fund manager responsible for strategic planning and creating exits. As fund manager he had various board positions of investment companies.
Roland worked inter alia in San Francisco, New York and continental Europe. He is a Dutch citizen with a Masters degree in Law (specialization tax law) from Leiden University in the Netherlands and completed the Tax Program of the Dutch Organization of Tax Advisers.

Edwin Jager

Edwin has been active in the maritime and intermodal industries for almost 25 years. During his career he held various senior positions in the finance industry, of which managing Director of DVB Bank Investment Management and Head of Shipping of NIBC Bank. In 2021 Edwin led the sale of the investment management franchise of DVB Bank to an external buyer., after which he established his own company.
Throughout the years he has been involved in the origination and structuring of numerous high profile transactions both in the debt and equity space.
Edwin started his career in 1992 as a management trainee with ABN AMRO. He worked in the Netherlands and Singapore (12 years), is a Dutch citizen and holds a bachelor degree in Business Economics.

Michiel Steeman

Michiel has more than 25 years’ experience in business development and deal origination, structuring and execution. Michiel has been employed with DVB Bank, a transport finance specialist mainly active in ship, aircraft and railcar financing, for 24 years. Michiel was employed as Head of Shipping Finance Europe (one of the 5 regional shipping teams) and a member of the management team.
Michiel managed multi-billion USD senior debt portfolios from a commercial as well as a risk management perspective. Michiel structured and managed numerous container equipment, shipping and infrastructure transactions. In addition, Michiel was global head of Syndications for DVB Bank from 2005 to 2010 maintaining relationships with other financial institutions and distributing large volumes of transportation debt. Michiel has worked inter alia in Singapore, London and continental Europe. He is a Dutch citizen with a Masters degree in Law from Erasmus University in Rotterdam and completed a Risk Management program at INSEAD.

Henk Detailleur

Henk has more than 25 years of international transaction experience in private equity, M&A, leveraged finance and restructuring deals. During his career amongst others he has been responsible for the International Restructuring Group covering leveraged finance transactions, transportation, energy, commodities, and project finance for an international bank. Henk has worked inter alia in continental Europe, Spain, and the United States. He is a Belgian citizen with a Masters degree in Business Economics from Ghent University, a Post-Master degree in International Management from the University of Hasselt, and a Post-Master degree in International Economics from Portland State University.

Thijs Slavenburg





Thijs has 20 years’ experience in trade, commodity, ship finance, project finance and debt and capital restructuring. He acted as deal captain for many core clients of the bank both in the maritime and infrastructure industries. His key focus areas were project finance, corporate lending, cash management and derivatives. He has originated, structured and executed a wide variety of finance transactions globally. Both in commercial transactions as well as sophisticated complex restructurings. Thijs is a Dutch citizen and holds a Master’s degree in Business Economics from Erasmus University in Rotterdam, and a Bachelor degree in Accounting from the Rotterdam Business School.
